Immersive exhibition — an exhibition in which spectators get familiarized with the artist’s work, sharing the great result of immersion inside his paintings. The immersive show blurs the line between the virtual and the real world, transforming the frozen surrounding space into a moving interactive world filled with vivid artistic images.
Immersive installations, shows, theatres, cinemas, and paintings differ from our usual scale, multi-screen, special effects, modern technologies, and new ideas.
All people have their view of a particular work of art. But the interaction between the artist and the viewer is different when it comes to immersive art. The Creator is trying, as it were, to draw the layman into his world, to let him touch what the master lives by. Here the viewer becomes a co-author.

In the 21st century, people have formed clip thinking. Our perception is changing; now, it is more interesting to look at a fictional world, fantasize with the artist, and not just stand in the middle of the gallery and peer into the «dry picture.» Immersive art is quite diverse.
An immersive exhibition is strikingly distinct from a standard exhibition due to the benefit of many other interactive outcomes:
- transferring images;
- mirror labyrinths;
- expertly selected lighting;
- pleasant musical accompaniment;
- simultaneous display of pictures on multiple screens.

The guest appears to plunge into the magic world of the master and evolves his co-author and an enthusiastic protagonist of the artistic event. He does not stand yet, overlooking one image from the side, but is frequently in motion with the environment.
It would probably be okay to remind you that an immersive exhibition is, in fact, nothing more than an interactive exhibition of works of art.
An immersive art exhibit is, first of all, the use of moving digital art images of paintings by the exhibited artist and the so-called VR technologies, as well as dynamic three-dimensional images, performances, musical accompaniment, and costume happenings — all this contributes to the complete immersion of the audience in the circumstances of time, place and mode of the action depicted by the artist on his canvases.
The immersive exhibition of Van Gogh’s paintings is now in New York. Then residents of several other American cities will be able to get acquainted with it. It was recently opened in Chicago and will go to six more cities. Other artists such as Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso and Monet have also exhibited in immersive exhibitions. Still, experience has shown that Van Gogh has proved to be, without any exaggeration, the superstar of this kind of exhibition.
Art historians argue that the incredible popularity of this exhibition (tickets for it, by the way, are very expensive) is due to the availability of his portraits, landscapes, and still lifes to the average visitor, which, moreover, look bold and attractive in the digital image.
They also say that an immersive art exhibit contributes to the perception of the artist sings not only from the outside but also from the inside, helps to comprehend his inner world and, therefore, helps to more accurately and deeply evaluate his work – which ultimately has a beneficial effect not only on art but also on culture in general.
